Bretagne – A Ferry of Art and Distinction
Bretagne – A Ferry of Art and Distinction
In 1989 the Bretagne entered service setting a new quality and standard of ferry travel between Britain and Europe. For thirty years this trendsetting vessel, built in France, has set herself apart from other ferries in Northern Europe, not only with her well-appointed accommodation but also with the outstanding collection of art on board by the distinguished Scottish-born artist Alexander Goudie.
With his lifelong association with Brittany, and with a culmination of these decades of study, Goudie was commissioned to provide all the art for the interior of the Bretagne. Today the ship has a passionate following, not only by her passengers but also her crew.
The book has both English and French narrative and covers the history of the distinctive 30 year old ship.
