Situated on the River Great Ouse at the south west corner of the Wash, the town of King’s Lynn has been a port for over a thousand years and in the middle ages it had trading agreements with the Hanseatic League which made Lynn one of the top four ports in England. The regulation of shipping back to medieval times was the responsibility of the Corporation and this remained so until 1898 when this duty was passed to the newly formed King’s Lynn Conservancy Board. This book tells how this came about and the history of the Board since its inception. 156 pages. 220 x 220mm. Softback. Published mid-October 2025.
